English Training in the Technology Industry

Taiwan Renowned Technology Company “V Company ”

Corporate Background

Company V is a well-known American tech company that provides various online services, including online shopping, internet news, and consumer auctions. In addition to establishing branches across Asia, it has also set up subsidiaries around the world to offer localized content. The company aims to help people worldwide find the information they need through its services in this era of globalization.

Corporate Needs

Due to the large scale of Company V, employees are extremely busy every day. In addition to handling various domestic projects, they also need to coordinate with other branches. As a result, English correspondence is very frequent, and there are endless international meetings every day.

However, as non-native speakers, employees still face some difficulties expressing themselves in English. They often want to ask colleagues for help, but everyone is busy with their own work, making it inconvenient to disturb others. In the end, they resort to searching online, but with so much conflicting information available, it’s hard to know what is correct.

Moreover, employees at Company V often struggle to participate in pre-arranged training sessions due to their work schedules. Even though they are eager to attend, they have to prioritize their tasks, which leads to consistently low attendance. To address this issue, the HR team at Company V is actively discussing alternative solutions to improve attendance rates.

Solutions

After receiving the request from V Company’s HR team, the CLN course team determined that, in addition to offering physical, fixed-time training sessions, V Company employees would benefit more from CLN’s on-site consultation services. This service is not limited by location or time, and CLN’s teaching consultants act as on-site instructors, allowing employees to schedule one-on-one consultations with teachers at their convenience to address their English-related concerns. This approach not only resolves employees’ questions immediately but also enhances their professional image. Additionally, CLN provides a dedicated online reservation system, making it easy for employees to book on-site sessions, reducing the booking threshold and improving management efficiency.

After discussions between the CLN course team and V Company’s HR partners, considering the large number of employees and the need for flexible scheduling, it was decided to arrange on-site services for three days a week, with three time slots per day, totaling nine hours for employees to choose from. The sessions are held in the office to increase interaction between employees and the consultant teachers. During the pandemic, the on-site service can be flexibly adjusted to an online format, where employees can use video conferencing tools to consult with the teachers remotely during the reserved time slots, ensuring continuous support while working from home.

The on-site service not only allows employees to consult about work-related English issues but also helps them improve their workplace English skills. CLN offers a wide range of topic-based courses, allowing employees to freely select the course content. They can strengthen areas where they are lacking or choose courses based on their personal interests.

From the feedback received from participants, it is evident that most students highly appreciate the on-site service. The one-on-one consultation model not only provides timely assistance to employees but also offers tailored support based on individual needs. More importantly, compared to specific training themes and schedules provided by the company, employees have greater flexibility in choosing consultation topics or courses.

In addition to completing their work, employees can enhance their skills without feeling regret over conflicts with the company’s training schedule. Individual English questions can also be effectively resolved. This “on-site” model not only rapidly and effectively enhances the professional presentation of V Company employees but also allows them to achieve a perfect balance between work and personal growth.
